AI Art & The Future of Scorched Tavern

N ow that we live in the future (minus the flying cars), where AI is taking over the field of art (with just a prompt & a click of a button), we here at the Scorched Tavern have made a decision to take a different path regarding AI art. While AI-generated art offers ease & convenience, there are several reasons why we have decided not to use it on our products going forward. Embracing Artists At the heart of our decision is a deep appreciation for human creativity. Art is not just about the end product; it is about the journey, the emotions, and the unique perspective that an individual artist brings to their work. Their creations are filled with personal experiences, nuances, and emotions that can't be replicated by AI (unless those creations have six fingers). Their works are genuine, whereas AI arts tend to feel hollow. It's Just Cooler When you get your Scorched Tavern product, you should know it was made with love. Every box that I've made, I've stro...

Introducing the Epic Bard Box!

A Unique Tribute to Your D&D Character Are you a Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast looking for a one-of-a-kind keepsake to commemorate your melodic character's epic adventures? Look no further than the Bard Box, a custom-made wooden box that brings your character to life in a truly unique way. Each Bard Box is meticulously crafted with care and precision. The process begins with a high-quality wooden box, which is then engraved with an intricate design of your D&D character. But this isn't just any engraving—it's filled with epoxy and painted to create a stunning, durable finish that captures every detail of your character's likeness. What sets the Bard Box apart is the musical notation that borders the character engraving. This isn't just decorative; it's a real song composed specifically for your character. Take, for example, Nicodemus the Famous, a legendary bard known for his daring exploits. One of his most famous (or arguably infamous) feats was sl...

What Magic Could It Be to Harness the Fire of a Dragon?

The first thing I had to do in order to start my adventure into engraving was to purchase an engraving machine. Of course. Truth is, I had no interest in engraving. It was my wife who had recently learned that a local library had one and you could use it as much as you wanted, albeit after you watched a ten minute video on how to use it.  That fell through when we went to use it and learned it was down for the foreseeable future. Oh Well. Then I looked it up online and found one pretty cheap. By cheap, I'm talking sub $130 cheap. Around that price range.   From personal experience, I've learned the hard way that it's worth investing into a better product than the one that's the most affordable.  I learned that with a 3d printer. It's done everything I've want, just not at the quality I'm happy with, and for just a bit more money, I could have had a much better one, I learned later on.  I've no real regrets about this as the experience I've gained was...
